Ronnie Wilson is a Texas based Musician, Audio/Video Producer, club owner, and CEO of the nonprofit “The Boarded Up Foundation”.
Ronnie began his career in music in the late 1970’s. Graduating from Dallas’ Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts, he moved on to playing in bands across the country, serving as bandleader for many acts including Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Bo Diddley, and even Chuck Berry. He has performed in concerts with internationally recognized artists like The O’Jays, Bobby “Blue” Bland, The Outlaws, Pinetop Perkins, Buddy Miles, Ray Price, and B.B. King. After over two decades of on-the-road musicianship, Ronnie settled into performing as a dueling piano player, allowing him to play music while spending time with his family.

During his decade as a performer on Austin’s famed Sixth St., Ronnie spent his free time hours learning the art of documentary filmmaking. He embraced this new role as film producer, and his historical films on the San Antonio Missions, Enchanted Rock, and interviews with Governor Ann Richards earned him many awards and local acclaim.

After gaining the knowledge and experience needed to do so, Ronnie began a new journey of opening his own piano bar, Louie Louie’s Piano Bar, first in Lubbock, then in Dallas and Colorado Springs. In doing so, he began to train future generations, not only in the art of entertaining, but the art of entertaining in his own unique way.

Not only as a musician, but now a club owner, Covid-19 was especially impactful. Though pandemic restrictions forced him to board up his clubs, Ronnie turned lemons into lemonade, creating the Boarded Up Foundation to help give back to the music community in a way that wasn’t available to himself as a young musician.
